FASTag Annual Pass was officially launched on August 15, 2025, by the National Highways Authority of India ( NHAI) at 1,150 toll plazas on the National Highways and Expressways. In a few hours, it has already registered 1.4 lakh buyers and approximately 1.39 lakh toll-payments. NHAI also indicated that there were active 20,000 to 25,000 concurrent users of the Rajmargyatra App at any time, which can again be referred to as the popularity of the scheme.

Annual Pass FASTag, Cost and Advantages

The FASTag Annual Pass will be charged Rs 3,000 for 200 toll crossings or a year’s journey, whichever is earlier. This will result in a significant saving to regular commuters, with a reduction in the average cost per crossing.

Similar to the current FASTag system, the annual pass gives the convenience of making contactless digital payment, and minimises queues and delays at toll plazas. To the user, this will translate to fewer stopovers, reduced travelling time, and they will no longer be stressed about the small amounts being deducted as they commute.

Simple Process for Existing FASTag Users

The major benefits of the new pass are that anybody with a FASTag need not purchase a new tag. They can instead upgrade their existing FASTag to an annual basis. Enabling the feature will also trigger SMS of zero toll deductions at scheme-eligible plazas.

A FASTag annual pass may be acquired by signing up with the Rajmargyatra application or via the NHAI/MoRTH official web page. Users must enter their vehicle number and FASTag ID, place the tag correctly installed and set to the correct vehicle and perform the Rs 3,000 payment. When it is confirmed, the pass is activated instantly and can be used.
