EVs Continue to Be Strong Despite JSW MG Motor India's October 2025 Sales Drop
  • An analysis of the main models and trends in JSW MG Motor India's October 2025 sales.

  • The company's portfolio is increasingly dominated by electric vehicles, and the milestone of 1 lakh EV sales has been reached.

In October 2025, JSW MG Motor India reported total sales in India of 6,397 units, a 9% decrease from 7,045 units in October 2024 and a 5% decrease from 6,728 units in September 2025.

The business emphasized that its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio is driving strategic colour for the brand, despite the general softness.

Model-specific performance

The following lists the major models that were sold in October 2025:

ModelUnits sold October 25Units sold October 24Units sold September 25Year-on-Year changeMonth-on-Month change
Windsor EV4,4453,1164,741+43 %6 %

Astor10276790–86.7 %+13 %
Gloster917625-94.8%-74.29%

The Windsor EV stands out because, despite a minor month-on-month decline, it continued to grow rapidly year over year and accounted for the majority of sales.

EV milestone and change in strategy

JSW MG declared that it had sold more than 1,00,000 electric cars in India. Over 70% of its monthly sales are now electric vehicles, and the brand's share of the Indian EV market has increased from 26% at the end of 2024 to about 35%.

The company's ambition to advance EVs above internal combustion cars is reflected in this change.

Future challenges

JSW MG's total sales are under strain despite the EV trend. In October 2025, the Indian passenger-vehicle market reached a record monthly volume of 4,66,814 units, up 17.3% year over year.

While EVs are doing well, JSW MG's non-EV models are struggling, as evidenced by the company's 9.2% year-over-year fall in sales.

Outlook

The company's future depends on maintaining EV growth while making its ICE and hybrid cars more appealing. Although the significant declines in models like the Hector and Astor are worrisome, the ZS EV surge's monthly performance is encouraging.

JSW MG seems to be in a good position as India's EV infrastructure and consumer mood develop, but converting its solid EV status into a larger brand market share would be difficult.
