CHARGE ZONE Accelerates Supercharging Network Expansion Across India

Vadodara, India, 9th July 2024 – CHARGE ZONE, a leading name in India’s burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) charging sector, has unveiled ambitious plans for a robust expansion of its supercharging infrastructure. With an investment commitment of US$360 million over the next four years, the company aims to establish 25 new supercharging stations in the current fiscal year alone. These stations will cater to a wide range of electric vehicles, including buses, trucks, and personal mobility vehicles, underscoring CHARGE ZONE's commitment to sustainable transportation solutions.

The expansion initiative signifies a quantum leap in CHARGE ZONE's capabilities, scaling up its charging capacity by a significant ratio compared to previous fast-charging models. Stations will boast capacities ranging from 360KW to 1.2MW, strategically positioned along key routes across Southern and Western India. Routes such as Bangalore-Chennai, Bangalore-Hyderabad, and Mumbai-Ahmedabad have been selected based on rigorous criteria including geographical location, traffic volume, land availability, and grid connectivity.

Mr. Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of CHARGE ZONE, emphasized the strategic importance of the new supercharging network, stating, "Our goal is to integrate sustainable energy sources like Solar PV and energy storage within micro-grids, setting new standards in EV super-charging technology. This expansion will not only meet the immediate needs of EV users but also pave the way for a cleaner, greener future."

The rollout follows a successful six-month pilot phase, during which CHARGE ZONE's supercharging stations demonstrated exceptional performance and efficiency. Customers, particularly inter-city electric car drivers and bus operators, reported significant benefits including reduced charging times. The average charging duration at these new stations is now between 15 to 20 minutes, considerably faster than the 45 minutes typically required at fast DC charging facilities.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, CHARGE ZONE plans to power its supercharging stations using renewable energy sources. Integrated solar rooftops and battery storage systems will ensure a green power supply, supporting efforts to transform national highways into renewable energy corridors. This approach not only enhances range and reliability for electric vehicles but also contributes to cost savings and environmental preservation.

To maximize accessibility and user convenience, CHARGE ZONE will leverage digital platforms such as PlugShare, Google Maps, and its proprietary mobile app. These tools will provide real-time station information, route planning assistance, and multiple payment options. The company also prioritizes safety with 24/7 surveillance, emergency support services, and rigorous maintenance protocols conducted through remote monitoring and regular inspections.

Looking ahead, CHARGE ZONE aims to electrify 150,000 kilometers of highways, installing a total of 1000 supercharging stations strategically positioned to optimize intercity travel. Supported by collaborations with government bodies and industry leaders including AUDI, GENTARI, HYUNDAI, MERCEDES BENZ, MG Motors, and TATA Motors, CHARGE ZONE remains committed to station reliability and customer satisfaction through continuous upgrades and proactive customer support initiatives.

As CHARGE ZONE continues to shape the future of electric mobility in India, the expansion of its supercharging network stands as a testament to innovation and sustainability in the transportation sector. With these advancements, the company not only aims to meet the growing demand for EV infrastructure but also to set new benchmarks in efficiency, reliability, and environmental stewardship.

In conclusion, CHARGE ZONE's ambitious supercharging network expansion represents a pivotal milestone in India's transition towards sustainable transportation, ushering in a new era of clean energy mobility across the nation.
