BYD Denza N9 and Bao 3 Designs Patented in India: A Glimpse into the Future of Luxury EVs
Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dreams) is turning the Indian EV market on its head with the design patents of two automobile models – Denza N9 PHEV and Bao 3 electric SUV. These filings arrive at a time when the company is preparing for the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which BYD will attend.
The Denza N9 is the BYD representative of the luxury new energy vehicle category that the Chinese automaker officially entered. Jointly designed under BYD’s Denza brand which is based in Shenzhen China, the new N9 is a huge car that measures 3.1 meters in wheelbase and 5.2 meters in overall length like its competitor, the Mercedes GLS.
The N9 comes in two variants:
PHEV Variant
Equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivering power output of 206 hp.
Total power of 924 horses from a drive motor at the front axle and two individual motors at the rear wheels.
Available with a 47kWh blade-cell battery that provides a mileage range of up to 165 km.
All-Electric Variant
Comparable three-motor configuration developing a bruising 965hp output.
The Denza N9 will introduce a perfect combination of luxury and dynamic performance with a new hybrid system that sets it apart from other premium EVs in the market.
BYD’s Fangchengbao division presently has an off-road contoured electric SUV known as the Bao 3. Developed from the Super 3 concept, this model will be targeted at adventure while keeping the brand’s traditional strengths in EVs.
Key highlights include:
Dimensions: 4.6 meters long located above the Atto 3.
Powertrain: Two electric motors for a 4WD simulation with 149hp at the front and 299hp at the rear.
Performance: Acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour takes 4.9 seconds. It has a top speed of201 kilometres per hour.
Additional Features: A roof-mounted carrier design patent suggests usability for off-road missions.
Presently, the carmaker that is part of the BYD group sells electric cars such as the eMAX 7, Atto 3 and the Seal. The start of the Denza N9 and Bao 3 could bring a new level in increasing its premium and niche electric vehicles family.
That also can be the time to present some new creations of BYD, which will be beneficial in its effort to become a leading company in offering EVs in India.
The marked intermediate to strategic design patent filings with outstanding notice in India indicate that BYD is serious about the glamour and marvel of the EV division. Wherever the Denza N9 and Bao 3 turn up or not, the chitchat those models have generated is enough to electrify enthusiasts of EVs.
