Mahindra's Vision S SUV is being tested, according to recent spy images.
The SUV could go on sale in late 2026 or early 2027 and is intended to rival the Tata Sierra.
Mahindra's eagerly awaited Vision S SUV has been sighted once more during road tests, providing fans with a closer look at the future model before it is released. Under thick concealment, the prototype has a unique boxy design with an upright front style, circular headlamps, and a flat hood.
Before releasing the commercial version, Mahindra appears to be actively improving the features and design, according to these spy photos.
According to the pictures, the Vision S's huge wheels, tough body armor, and high ground clearance give it a dominating attitude. Its bold design language is furthered by the flat roof, flush door handles, and squared-off wheel arches. The SUV's purposeful appearance is further enhanced at the back with a spare wheel installed on the tailgate and vertically stacked tail lamps.
Mahindra seems to be aiming for lifestyle-oriented consumers who appreciate both style and off-road prowess rather than just a straightforward city runabout. For a better ride over uneven terrain, the SUV is anticipated to use an upgraded suspension system.
The Vision S's inside would feel contemporary and technologically advanced, according to earlier leaked photos and rumours. A panoramic sunroof, two digital screens, and a futuristic dashboard with both digital and tactile controls are anticipated features of the cabin.
Additionally planned are sophisticated safety systems, hill descent control, comfortable seating, and several drive modes.
Mahindra is expected to offer a combination of gasoline and diesel engines at launch, with hybrid and electric versions potentially available in the future, even if formal powertrain specs are still pending.
The Vision S is positioned as a legitimate rival to Tata's recently resurrected Sierra, which has attracted a lot of attention from the market. It is not just another SUV in Mahindra's lineup.
In order to appeal to consumers who choose a lifestyle-oriented car over a strictly urban runabout, Mahindra appears to be focusing on combining premium amenities with tough SUV character.
The Vision S is anticipated by industry observers to debut in late 2026 or early 2027, coinciding with a busy time for new SUV debuts in India as manufacturers increase the number of models available in the compact and mid-size sectors.
