2025 Tata Altroz Facelift Impresses in Crash Test, Scores Awaited

Tata Motors has continued to demonstrate its commitment to safety with the crash-testing of the new 2025 Tata Altroz facelift. Recently, Tata Motors shared a video on their official social media handles showing the hatchback being subject to the motor's safety tests.

The final Bharat NCAP crash test scores are still pending for approval, however, the early footage does suggest that enough structural improvements or occupant safety enhancements have occurred to show the hatchback is getting better.

Crash Test Observations: Solid Under Pressure

The crash test video shows the Altroz being thoroughly tested for a front offset deformable barrier at 64 kmph, which retained impressive structural integrity.

The underbody remained completely intact as well as the A-Pillar. The air bags deployed as they should in a crash test, indicating impressive survivability characteristics for real world crashes.

The hatchback was also tested for a side mobile barrier crash at 50 kmph, which the structure absorbed reasonably well, using its crumple zones and a reinforced firewall. The side pole crash test also backed up the Altroz's safety rating paperwork, with little cabin out raid, and deformed well within contained parameters.

With Tata's consistent performance portfolio - including the original Altroz, which acquired a 5-star GNAP rating in 2020 - awarding a facelifted version a similar or equal result through Bharat NCAP is considered a given.

Loaded With Safety Tech

The refreshed 2025 Tata Altroz is provided with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, and three-point seatbelts for all occupants.

Tata has added new features such as a 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ensuring that these additional features contribute to active and passive safety across the range.

A Complete Hatchback Package

In addition to safety, the 2025 Altroz would be the only vehicle in its segment to get petrol, diesel, and CNG powertrains. The petrol variant has a 1.2L 3-cylinder engine and the diesel gets a 1.5L turbocharged unit. Customers can choose between five trims—Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S, priced at Rs 6.89 lakh to Rs 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift seems well positioned to be one of the top contenders again in India's competitive premium hatchback space, especially with the broad updates made both on performance and safety front.
