1,200 Crore Hybrid Project by Mahindra Coming up in Maharastra

Mahindra Susten, a division of the Mahindra Group and a key player, in the Independent Power Producer (IPP) sector has revealed its venture into the renewable energy domain through a substantial investment.

They are embarking on a 150-megawatt solar wind energy initiative in Maharashtra signaling their shift towards energy solutions. This impactful project entails setting up 101 megawatts of wind capacity and 52 megawatts of capacity expected to generate around 460 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy. Moreover, the project aims to counterbalance 420,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions marking a stride towards environmental sustainability.

This initiative underscores Mahindra Group's dedication to sustainability and green energy endeavors. With an estimated cost of about INR 1,200 crore, this endeavor will stand as one of Maharashtra's extensive co-located solar and wind hybrid projects crafted to supply clean energy to commercial and industrial clients. The company intends to procure over 80% of the components highlighting their advocacy for manufacturing while boosting the project's socio-economic influence.

Anish Shah, CEO & MD of Mahindra Group underscored the national urgency for transitioning towards energy sources in response, to climate change.

He emphasized the significance of this energy project, in line with its sustainability objectives and dedication to establishing businesses that have an impact on the planet. This endeavor showcases Mahindras pledge to act as a corporate entity by utilizing green energy and creating sustainable initiatives that support a cleaner future.

Deepak Thakur, the CEO & MD of Mahindra Susten reaffirmed the company's focus on renewable energy to provide clean and cost-effective green energy solutions for large commercial and industrial consumers. He expressed confidence in the project's ability to demonstrate the benefits of energy solutions in assisting companies in transitioning towards sustainable and eco-friendly business practices.
