The increasing population has increased the use of automobiles, giving rise to the problem of parking. Have you wondered what happens if you don't park your vehicle properly? Wrong parking can lead to severe traffic congestion, and with that, a decrease in road safety also follows.
Moreover, you can also be made to pay the parking fine, and your vehicle can be towed away.
What is no parking?
No Parking refers to the indication that a person cannot park his/her vehicle in a particular area. This area is defined by a sign, and the rule applies to the area under the influence of this sign.
How do you identify no parking signs?
These signs are generally in red and black colours, written on a whiteboard. The types of No Parking Signs are:
- No Parking: You cannot park any vehicle in this area.
- No Parking with arrows: If the no parking sign has an additional arrow sign, you cannot park in the area where the arrow indicates. E.g., no parking with a left arrow indicates that you cannot park towards the left of the sign board.
- No parking with a specific vehicle symbol: These types of symbols restrict the parking of a particular vehicle in that area. For example, no parking with a car means you cannot park your car in that area. However, you can park other types of vehicles.
No parking in a particular period: If the time or days of the week are written on the board along with the sign, it means you cannot park your vehicle in that area in that particular period.

Penalties for No Parking
If somebody fails to follow the above-mentioned rules, he/she is liable to pay a fine. The amount of fine varies from region to region. However, the parking fee is higher in metropolitan cities as compared to other places.
One has to pay towing charges for the vehicle separately, depending on the size of the vehicle.
