Here are some common traffic violations and their penalties in Arunachal Pradesh:
Driving without a seatbelt, and not wearing a helmet: Rs 1000 fine.
Underage/minor driving: The fine can go up to Rs 25000
Driving without a valid driver's licence: Fine of Rs. 5000/ Rs. 2000 if you do not carry its while driving.
Rash driving/ racing: Rs 5000 fine for 1st timer, Rs.10000 for a repeated offence
Disobeying traffic rules: fine of Rs. 500
Driving without registration: a fine of Rs 2000
Using A mobile phone while driving- Rs 5000 for 1st time, Rs 10,000 for repeated offences.
Expired Insurance: Rs. 2000 fine
These are the minimum penalties as per the motor vehicle act. They can go higher in case of repeated offence and type of vehicle.
To minimise traffic rule violations in the state, Tripura has updated challan penalties and started issuing E-challans for traffic rule violators.
Here are some common traffic violations and their penalties in Tripura:
Driving without a licence/expired licence: Rs 5000 fine
Not giving way to emergency vehicles: A fine of Rs. 10,000
Basic traffic rules or traffic police instruction violation: Rs 1000 fine
Overspeeding: Fine of Rs. 1000 for LMV and Rs. 2000 for Medium passenger or goods vehicles.
Drunk driving/ driving under the influence of banned substances: Rs 10,000 fine for the first time.
Driving when mentally unfit or physically unfit to drive: Rs. 1000 fine for 1st time, Rs. 2000 for a repeat offence.
Tripling on two-wheelers: Rs. 1000 fine for first-time offenders
Using mobile phones while driving: Rs. 5000 for the first time, Rs. 10000 for repeated offence.
Driving a vehicle from another state for more than 12 months: Fine of Rs. 500 for the first time, Rs. 1500 for the second time.
