Windsor EV Leads, Hector Rises, MG India December 2025 Sales Report
  • Despite a minor decline from November, the MG Windsor EV maintained its position as the best-selling vehicle in December.

  • Sales at the recently renovated Hector increased significantly month over month, indicating a resurgence of consumer interest.

Although overall yearly volumes remained below December 2024, MG Motor India reported total sales of 6,500 units in December 2025, a 13% month-over-month improvement over November statistics.

Sales Breakdown for December 2025

While the redesigned Hector SUV performed exceptionally well, with a notable increase in monthly demand, the electric-focused Windsor EV continued to hold the top spot in the sales chart.

A growing demand for small electric vehicles is reflected in the Comet EV's impressive stats. However, some models found it difficult to draw in customers.

Windsor Continues to Lead, Hector Leaps

Despite an 10.66 % decline from November, the Windsor EV remained at the top of the lineup with 3,596 units sold. Through 2025, the model's long-term performance has been noteworthy, assisting MG in establishing a strong position in the Indian EV industry.

Due in major part to the updated 2026 Hector and Hector Plus facelifts, which have rekindled consumer enthusiasm, the Hector SUV had one of the largest improvements, with a more than 300% month-over-month increase.

Comet EV Accelerates

Compact EVs appear to be gaining popularity among consumers, as evidenced by the little MG Comet EV's 1,143 sales, which increased both year over year and month over month.

Astor and Gloster, on the other hand, saw a dramatic decline in sales, while Gloster did not record any sales in December. With slight increases in November but a significant decline from the prior year, the ZS EV maintained a mediocre position.

MG's prospects in India

MG's December numbers show a mixed but promising 2025 outcome. Even if overall yearly sales decreased from 2024 to 2025, Windsor's steady demand and growing interest in updated and smaller models continue to be the key drivers of the brand's growth.
