What makes the new Kia EV6 different from the old one?
Kia made its debut in the Electric automotive world with EV6 back in 2021. The electric crossover made its premiere in Kia's native nation after receiving its first makeover. The new Kia EV6 facelift features major inside modifications in addition to minor exterior style improvements. Let us see the primary distinctions of the recently released EV6 in detail:
Front: There have been minor styling adjustments made to the 2025 Kia EV6. It now has more streamlined headlamp units with C-shaped components to match the most recent EV cars from Kia. For a sportier appearance, the front bumper and grille have also been updated.
Side: The side profile has not changed significantly, except for the addition of 19-inch wheels as standard equipment and 20-inch wheels for higher-end models. In India, the redesigned EV6 is 20 mm lower than the outgoing model.
Back: Like the previous generation, the back of the car has a connected light bar that runs the length of the vehicle, giving it an angular and elongated aspect.
An 84 kWh battery pack, an improvement over the previous 77.4 kWh pack, is now featured in the new model. It is anticipated that this upgrade will increase the vehicle's range and performance. Notable improvements to the redesigned EV6's specs include a bigger battery pack—the rear-wheel drive (RWD) version now has an 84 kWh battery, up from the previous model's 77.4 kWh pack. The same 229 PS and 350 Nm of power and torque are still available. The updated EV6's stated range has improved to 494 km, albeit marginally less than the previous model's 528 km according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Test Vehicles Procedure.
The new EV6's interior has been completely redesigned. It now has a revised central console, a redesigned steering wheel, and a new curved enclosure for two 12.3-inch displays. A digital rear-view mirror, OTA software updates, AR navigation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an improved heads-up display are among the noteworthy features.
Ten airbags and all of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technologies from the previous model, such as lane change assist, park assist, and forward collision prevention, are included in the facelifted EV6's safety package.
The new Kia EV6 facelift is expected to arrive by mid-2025, following a similar timeline to its predecessor's launch in India. It is likely to remain a CBU import, with prices expected to be higher than the current model due to the upgrades. The EV6 will continue to compete with rivals like the Volvo C40 Recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Seal, and BMW i4.
