Volvo has indicated that the opening of bookings will happen on August 20, 2025. A set of compact electric SUVs will, subsequently, be officially launched at the end of September, but the initial sets of deliveries will be made in October.
In India, the EX30 will be launched with one and only fully loaded variant, as opposed to some other markets that the company operates in worldwide. A few exterior colour choices will also be available to the customers.
The EX30 is positioned to cost between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 45 lakh (ex-showroom), and will be the most affordable electric vehicle for sale in India by Volvo.
Although it is the closest to the existing EVs, it does not sacrifice performance and technology as the positioning of the brand claims. It will be priced such that it competes head-to-head with some of the most powerful performers in the upper-end EV market.
A 69kWh battery and an electric motor attached to the rear of the vehicle are the core of the EX30. In combination, they produce 268bhp and 343 Nm of torque and make the SUV reach 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 second.
With a full charge, the EX30 boasts a brilliant range of 480km, meaning that it can be used to both commute to work and go on long road trips.
After entering the market, the EX30 will rival the BYD Sealion 7, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW iX1, and the Mini Cooper SE. Representing a fusion of design, performance, and long driving range, Volvo is eyeing to make the EX30 a competitive new entry in the rapidly growing premium EV segment in India.
