
The Volvo C40 has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 61.25 lakh, ex-showroom. The car is based on the XC40 Recharge and will be assembled at the Volvo facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, Bookings are now open.
Exterior features include signature Thor’s hammer style DRLs, vertical tail lamps, closed-off grille and a coupe-like sloping tail section to name a few.
The C40 Recharge is 4,440 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, 1,591 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,702 mm. It comes shod with 19-inch aero wheels.
The C40 Recharge uses a 78kWh battery pack paired with an all-wheel drive system and an electric motor that produces 245 bhp on the rear axle and 156 bhp on the front axle. The combined output stands at 402 bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque. The company claims a range of 530 km on a full charge and a 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds. The top speed is 180 kmph.
The feature list on the inside includes powered front seats with memory function, a 9.0-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital driver dash, a 13 speaker Harman Kardon sound system, two-zone climate control, and an air purifier to name a few.
The safety suite includes a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, hands free powered tailgate, a wireless charging pad, seven airbags, TPMS, hill start and descent controls, and ADAS among others.
