VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs Set for India Debut on September 6

Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast is now ready to make its first steps in the Indian car market and introduce its VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs.

Having provided Indian audiences with a preview during the Auto Expo in the early part of this year and having opened its first showroom only a month ago, the company has now set the official date of launch to September 6, 2025. The prices will be disclosed soon.

Dealership and Expansion Plans

VinFast has already begun establishing its dealerships in India. Some of these outlets are already up and running and the brand has an ambitious goal of having 35 dealerships by the year 2025. The roll-out is meant to establish easy access for the buyers in the major cities.

Booking and Pricing Details

Booking of both SUVs is currently available on the official site of the company. Customers are able to book their VF 6 or VF 7 at a token ₹21,000.

Although pricing will be revealed during the launching event, industry observers believe that the models will be competitive as compared to the mid-size electric SUVs in the market.

Battery and Assembly

The VF 6 will use a 59.6kWh battery pack that will be housed under the hood, and the VF 7 will have a 70.8kWh unit. The performance and range values are as yet undisclosed.

The two SUVs will be assembled in the manufacturing plant owned by VinFast in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with the current production capacity of 50,000 units and a potential increase to 1.5 lakh units in case the demand in the future increases.

What This Means for the Market

The launch of the VF 6 and VF 7 marks VinFast’s official debut in India, a move that signals growing competition in the country’s fast-expanding EV market. With localized assembly, a growing dealership footprint, and premium electric offerings, VinFast is positioning itself as a serious contender in India’s EV space.
