Triumph Street Triple R And RS Launched; Prices Start At Rs. 10.17 Lakh

The Triumph Street Triple has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 10.17 lakh for the R variant and Rs. 11.81 lakh for the RS variant.

Powering the Street Triple Twins is the 765 cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine with new con rods, pistons, camshaft with increased valve shift and shorter intake trumpets. The above-mentioned changes have resulted in a hike of power, 118 bhp for the R and 128 bhp for the RS variant. The torque produced by the engine is 80 Nm and standard for both the R and RS variant.

Braking duties for the RS are done by Brembo Stylema units, while the R gets the same Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers. The RS comes shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres and the R gets Continental ContiRoad tyres. The chassis of both bikes have been tweaked for a sharper rake and a shorter wheelbase, the RS gets a taller subframe by a 20 mm spacer on the rear mono-shock. These changes ought to better the bike’s agility around a set of corners.

Both the R and the RS get a bevy of electronic aids such as multiple ride modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Rider (customizable), and Track mode for the RS, multi-level traction control, ABS, and a bi-directional quick-shifter among others. The R gets a dash similar to that on the Triumph Trident and the RS gets a TFT screen.

The Triumph Street Triple R is one lakh dearer and the RS’ price tag has been hiked by Rs. 50,000. The Triumph Street Triple range goes up against the likes of the Ducati Monster and Kawasaki Z900 to name a few.
