The much-awaited Skoda Kylaq has stepped into Indian Markets @ INR 7.89 Lakhs
After much anticipation and a series of spy images, Skoda has officially launched the Skoda Kylaq, a compact SUV that promises to offer a blend of modern design, features, and performance. With prices starting from Rs 7.89 lakh (introductory ex-showroom pan-India), the Kylaq is now available for booking. Customers can reserve their vehicles starting December 2, 2024, with deliveries expected to begin on January 27, 2025, following its official showcase at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The Kylaq will be available in four variants: Classic, Signature, Signature Plus, and Prestige, offering buyers a range of options based on their preferences and budget.
The Skoda Kylaq draws a lot of design inspiration from its bigger sibling, the Kushaq, with its stylish and modern exterior. At the front, it features a split-LED headlight design, with the LED DRLs located just below the bonnet line and the LED projector headlights above the bumper. It also retains the signature butterfly-shaped grille, a hallmark of Skoda’s design language, along with a bold bumper featuring a honeycomb pattern.
From the side, the Kylaq has a clean, minimalist look, accentuated by features like roof rails, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and ORVM-mounted turn indicators. At the rear, the SUV sports wraparound LED tail lights with inverted L-shaped internal lighting elements, connected by a slim black strip with the ‘Skoda’ lettering, further enhancing its modern appeal.

Inside, the Kylaq offers a black and grey cabin theme, complemented by silver and chrome accents throughout. The SUV features a 2-spoke steering wheel and semi-leatherette seat upholstery for a premium feel. The central AC vents are positioned just below the large 10.1-inch touchscreen, while the climate controls are located beneath them, mimicking the layout seen in the Kushaq.

Under the hood, the Kylaq is powered by a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (producing 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque), which is also used in the Kushaq and Slavia. It offers two transmission options:
6-speed manual transmission
6-speed torque converter automatic transmission
This combination of performance and efficiency makes the Kylaq an ideal choice for city commutes and long-distance drives alike.
While Skoda has yet to release the full price list, we expect it to be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Kylaq will compete in the sub-4m SUV segment against rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Renault Kiger. It will also face competition from other sub-4m crossovers such as the Toyota Taisor and Maruti Fronx.
With its stylish design, premium features, and competitive pricing, the Skoda Kylaq is all set to make a mark in the fast-growing compact SUV segment.
