Tata Motors Announces Rs 9,000 Crore Investment for New Plant in Tamil Nadu
Tata Motors, like S.N. Krishnan, one of the key players in the Indian automobile industry, has recently announced its intention to make a new facility in Tamil Nadu. The automaker with extensive passenger and commercial vehicles offers to make a strategic move, particularly in production capacity.
For the time being, Tata Motors has not disclosed any particular details about the future location and size of the manufacturing facility. However, disclosed its plans to invest Rr 9000crore in the project during the term of the next five years. The company projects that the number of direct and indirect workforce in Tamil Nadu will increase by about 5, 000 people after the investment has been completed.
MoU which is the Memorandum of Understanding is officially signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Tiru. M.K. Stalin. This deal was sealed between Mr V Vishnu, IAS and Managing Director & CEO, Guidance, and Mr PB Balaji a Group CFO and Tata Motors.
Tata Motors decided to keep their details secret regarding the kind of vehicles, passenger or commercial they will be producing there. The business objectives of the plant will be communicated upon the release of more information, which is expected to be sooner.
Through this major investment, Tata is manifesting the idea of the fact that the brand is increasingly oriented towards a rise in the number of factories and industrial productivity. Having set the goal to reach the top five Indian automakers Tata on the one side is eager to employ this new facility to bump up its annual production capability. The Indian automotive company could increase the number of passenger cars it produces and reduce the time customers wait for their vehicles while striving to gain market share.
