Renault-Nissan's Kamarajar Port Export Agreement Invests in India's Automotive Future

On Monday, the Franco-Japanese auto alliance Renault Nissan revealed that it had reached an agreement with Kamarajar Port Limited for the transportation of vehicles built at its Chennai facility in India to various international and regional locations. The agreement strengthens the already successful collaboration between the two parties and intends to make it easier to export vehicles via Kamarajar Port Ltd.

As part of its "Made in India, Make for the World" philosophy, Renault Nissan has agreed with Kamarajar Port Limited to export automobiles built in Chennai to national and international locations. The agreement strengthens an already-existing collaboration and will help realise the alliance's new long-term vision for India, which calls for raising production and R&D levels, introducing electric vehicles, and switching to carbon-neutral manufacturing.

This arrangement will support India's exports, which have already exceeded the landmark milestone of 1 million automobiles exported from the Chennai facility. This partnership presents Kamarajar Port with an amazing potential to impact India's growth story favourably through automobile exports.

Renault Nissan's Chennai facility has manufactured over 24 million automobiles for domestic and foreign markets and shipped its vehicles to 108 nations. Almost 70,000 jobs have been generated at the plant through direct and indirect investments totalling USD 1.8 billion from Renault and Nissan.
