Land Rover has launched the new Velar with two powertrain options.

The Range Rover Velar facelift has been launched at a price of Rs. 93 lakh and it is offered in a single HSE trim. We can expect the deliveries to begin before the festive season in September. The exterior changes include a new pixel LED headlamp unit with new DRL setup, and a fresh bumper with new tail lamp unit.

The interior changes include a redesigned dashboard that takes cues from the Range Rover that houses a 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the latest Pivi Pro system, a terrain response system, and a wireless charging pad among other features.

The new Velar gets both petrol and diesel powertrains, a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a mild hybrid system. Both come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine produces 249 bhp of power and 365 Nm of peak torque and the diesel unit makes about 203 bhp and 430 Nm of peak torque. The company claims a 0-100 kmph dash in 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 217 kmph for the petrol unit. And the diesel guise has a claimed 0-100 kmph sprint in 8.0 seconds and a top speed of 210 kmph.

The Range Rover Velar rivals the likes of the Porsche Macan and the Jaguar F-Pace to name a few.
