July was promising for the car industry, with a slew of new models introduced in the Indian market.
Citreon India introduced its new C3 small hatchback in the Indian market on July 20, 2022, and booking began throughout the country's 20 dealerships in 19 locations.
The Citroen C3 was the French automaker's second vehicle in India after the debut of the C5 Aircross mid-size SUV last year. Unlike the C5 Aircross, the next C3 is produced in India with significant localization at the company's production facility in Tamil Nadu.
Citroen has also revealed the powertrain options for the next C3, which has two 1.2-litre Puretech petrol engines. The first is the Purectch 82, which generates 80bhp/115Nm, while the Puretch 110, which produces 109bhp/190Nm, is more powerful.
The turbo petrol variant can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds. Regarding fuel economy, the 1.2-litre NA engine returns 19.8 kmpl, while the turbo petrol engine returns 19.4 kmpl. They come with a five-speed manual or a six-speed manual transmission.
The Citroen C3 features a striking split headlamp design separated by a secondary hexagonal-shaped grille and a two-slat chrome grille. The Citroen C3 is available in four colours: Polar White, Platinum Grey, Steel Grey, and Zesty Orange.
The dual-tone bumpers come with imitation brushed aluminium skid plates. Contrasting orange elements can be found on the front bumper, ORVMs, and side cladding. Traditional antennae, wrap-around LED tail lights, and dual-tone alloy wheels are also available.
The C3 has a well-designed cabin with two inside trim options: Anodized Grey and Zesty Orange, the latter featuring a two-tone colour finish. Because this is a French vehicle, it features unique stylistic elements such as a textured dashboard and vertical AC vents.
The Citroen C3 offers seats for five people. The vehicle includes a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument panel, a flat-bottom steering wheel with steering-mounted controls, and silver/orange dashboard highlights.
Additionally, customers can choose up to eight-seat coverings, and a smartphone clamp can be attached here. The C3 also has a 315-litre trunk and a 2540 mm wheelbase. Along with features like auto temperature control, a USB charger, and a 12V connection, the car also comes with a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel.
Dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminders, engine immobilizers, and speed-sensitive door locks are all available on the Citroen C3, but only in the Feel trim level.
The forthcoming C3 faces competitors, including the Tata Punch mini SUV, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the Nissan Magnate, and the Renault Kiger. The price range for this vehicle in the Indian market is between 5-7 Lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
If Citroen successfully sets the base Live variant's pricing at Rs. 5 lakh and the top-end Feel variant's price at roughly 7, the C3 could just set the cash registers ringing.
