The new full-size SUV from MG has already begun selling in the Middle East under a distinctive brand, giving Indian consumers a sneak peek at what they might expect soon.
The seven-seater SUV is expected to be a formidable rival in the market thanks to its potent diesel engine, all-wheel drive as standard, and high-end interior features.
The MG Majestor, which will go on sale in India on February 12, 2026, is already on the road in Middle Eastern countries under the new name MG Rakan. Rakan, which is derived from the word meaning "pillar" or "foundation" to represent strength and durability, is the first time MG has formally given one of its key cars an Arabic name.
The Rakan is mechanically and aesthetically identical to what MG promised for the Majestor, which is headed to India. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine. All-wheel drive (4WD) is standard.
The exterior of the Rakan (and thus the Majestor) is characterized by a robust, rough design. It has an aggressive road stance thanks to a sizable gloss-black grille up front that is flanked by split headlights and svelte LED daytime running lights. The SUV's lofty and assured stance suggests both off-road competence and elegance on the road.
The vehicle's sturdy appearance is further enhanced by the rear design, which has prominent bumpers with skid plates and integrated LED taillamps. Its strong shape is further enhanced by the modest black cladding and dual-tone alloy wheels.
The Rakan's interior features a high-end cabin, which MG is probably going to transfer to the Majestor for India. In addition to a fully digital driver display and a sizable 12.3-inch touchscreen entertainment system, the inside features a beautiful dual-tone colour scheme.
Comfort-focused amenities including a 12-speaker JBL sound system, multi-zone climate control, and powered front seats with massage capabilities highlight the SUV's premium approach.
It is ideal for extended trips and family use because it has room for seven people and ample cargo space that can be greatly expanded when the second and third seats are folded flat.
The MG Majestor is anticipated to overtake the current Gloster SUV in MG's portfolio in India and take on formidable competitors like the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq. Industry observers predict that the Majestor will appeal to consumers looking for a high-end full-size SUV experience by providing an alluring blend of power, comfort, and contemporary technology.
