Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off the new CLA Class concept

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the new CLA Class concept at the Munich Motor Show 2023. It is based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA).

The powertrain has been derived from the Vision EQXX concept and we can expect the production of the car by 2025.

The powertrain includes an 800 V electric architecture which can be had in two different cell chemistries - an anode design with silicon-oxide content for the top model and lithium-iron phosphate unit for the base model.

The company claims a range of 750 km on a full charge. The electric architecture also supports 250 kW DC charging which can provide a claimed 400 km driving range in 15 minutes.

The battery sends power to an electric motor that is coupled to a two-speed transmission. The motor produces a power of 231 bhp. The motor weighs 110 kg and the company says that it is up to 93 per cent energy efficient from battery to wheel in long distance journeys.

Feature list includes massive grille, all LED lighting, light bar up front and at the rear running the width of the car, a full-width MBUX Superscreen with Mercedes-Benz's new MB.OS operating system, Google maps navigation, turbine-like virtual air vents, seats and upholstery made from sustainable nappa leather, wireless charger and floating centre arm rest to name a few.
