The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV goes on sale in India across three trims, starting from Rs. 55 lakh, with a claimed range of up to 792 km.
Strictly limited to 140 units each, the C-Class and E-Class Celebration Editions arrive to honour the brand's 140th anniversary.
Mercedes-Benz India has unveiled Celebration Editions of both the C-Class and E-Class, commemorating 140 years of the brand in a rather fitting fashion. Each edition is capped at exactly 140 units, a number that mirrors the anniversary itself.
Both cars are based on their respective standard models and arrive with a curated set of additions over the regular versions, including a dash camera, rear seat entertainment screens, rear seat cushions, and a bespoke collectible.
The C-Class Celebration Edition carries a price tag of Rs. 62.40 lakh (ex-showroom), a step up from the standard model's starting price of Rs. 59.90 lakh. The C-Class continues to be offered with two petrol and one diesel powertrain, and comes equipped with heated and cooled front seats, a Burmester sound system, a 360-degree camera, an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.
The E-Class Celebration Edition is priced from Rs. 82.70 lakh (ex-showroom), against the standard version's starting price of Rs. 80 lakh. Sold exclusively in long wheelbase form in India, the E-Class is available in E200, E220d and E450 variants. It features a 14.4-inch touchscreen, four-zone climate control, 64-colour ambient lighting, electric sunblinds for rear passengers, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging.
Whether the Celebration Editions are tied to particular variants or span the entire range has not been confirmed by Mercedes-Benz.
Running alongside the anniversary specials, Mercedes-Benz also brought the next-generation CLA to India as a fully electric vehicle. Three trims are on offer, the CLA 200 at Rs. 55 lakh, the CLA 250+ at Rs. 59 lakh, and the Launch Edition at Rs. 64 lakh, all ex-showroom.
The CLA EV rides on the MMA platform and comes in two battery configurations. The CLA 200 Progressive Line uses a 58 kWh pack offering a claimed range of 548 km, while the CLA 250+ AMG Line steps up to an 85.5 kWh pack with a 792 km claimed range.
Both produce 268 bhp and 335 Nm. Built on an 800-volt architecture, the sedan supports DC fast charging at up to 320 kW. A particularly interesting mechanical feature is the two-speed EV transmission, which deploys an 11:1 ratio for acceleration and a 5:1 ratio for efficient highway cruising.
Inside, the CLA EV gets what Mercedes-Benz calls the MBUX Hyperscreen, which brings together a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a co-driver entertainment screen. The system supports facial recognition and video calling via dedicated camera hardware, and runs on MB.OS with over-the-air update support.
The MB.Assistant integrates with ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini. Other features include an eight-way powered driver seat with three-point memory, heated front seats, a 40-litre frunk, pre-entry climate control, 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats and a tilt-and-telescopic adjustable steering column. The Launch Edition adds leather upholstery, 19-inch edition-specific alloys, a night package, ambient lighting and illuminated door sills.
Safety provisions include eight airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP and a comprehensive ADAS suite covering front collision warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, evasive steering for vulnerable road users and high beam assist.
The CLA EV is backed by an eight-year or 1.6 lakh kilometre warranty. The CLA 250+ begins deliveries from end-April 2026, with the CLA 200 following from June 2026.
