Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift for 2024 is priced at Rs. 1.32 crore in India

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift has been launched in India at Rs. 1.32 crore (all-India, ex-showroom). The flagship SUV's updated version, which debuted globally in April of this year, isn't yet ready to make its Indian debut. The German automaker will reveal the cost of the spacious luxury SUV at its yearly press conference, scheduled to take place in New Delhi.

The exterior, Interiors and features of GLS

Mercedes will offer the new 2024 GLS in India in two trim levels: GLS 400d (diesel) and GLS 450 (petrol). The exterior of this updated GLS features new bumpers, alloy wheels, grille, and LED headlamp designs with altered light patterns. Mercedes has updated the interior with a fingerprint telematics sensor, a new MBUX interface, and a new steering wheel but the most evident visual change to the updated GLS over the outgoing model is a silver-finished horizontally slatted grille.

The new flagship Mercedes SUV's cabin interiors are essentially unchanged from the previous model, though new apparel is included. Catalana Brown and Bahia Brown are the two new upholstery options available on the updated GLS. Additionally, the six-seater cabin with captain seats in the middle row is not included in the India-spec GLS.

With features like multi-zone climate control, dual digital displays, leather upholstery, power seats with massage function, wireless phone mirroring, and three interior colour options, this fully loaded Mercedes SUV has it all. One of the largest vehicles in the segment, the GLS has a third row that can be used comfortably and measures 5.1 metres with a wheelbase of more than 3.0 metres.

Engine options for the new Mercedes

The 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine of the 400d version of this updated Mercedes GLS SUV generates 362 horsepower and 750 Nm, while the 3.0-liter inline-six petrol engine produces 375 horsepower and 500 Nm. AWD, a 48V mild hybrid system, and an eight-speed torque converter AT are included with both engines. Additionally, there are various drive modes available, with the off-road drive modes utilising the transparent bonnet function to enhance visibility during challenging conditions.

The expected price of the Mercedes GLS facelift

The outgoing GLS was priced at Rs 1.30 and the incoming model is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 1.40-1.50 crore (all ex-showroom).
