Maruti Victoris Secures Five-Star Rating in GNCAP Tests

By achieving five stars out of GNCAP crash tests, Maruti Victoris SUV has scored another point to its cap that has recently been launched. The SUV scored very well in the adult occupant category with a tally of 33.72 out of 34, and it scored 41 out of 49 in the child occupant category.

This hence renders the Victoris the second Maruti Suzuki that has won a five-star GNCAP rating after the Dzire that received the accolade late last year.

Solid Results in Course Crash Tests

Three massive crash test assessments were performed on the Victoris:

  • Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test (RHD model): Provided good protection for the front passenger, with the driver receiving adequate chest and right leg protection.

  • Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test: Rated good for the head and lower body, with adequate protection for the chest.

  • Side Impact Pole Test: Scored well across all parameters, showcasing robust side-impact resistance.

Standard Safety Features Across Variants

Maruti has equipped all variants of the Victoris with a comprehensive safety package. Standard features include:

  • Six airbags

  • ABS with EBD

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

These inclusions played a pivotal role in helping the SUV secure top marks in the crash assessments.

Boost for Domestic and Export Markets

The Victoris has been set as the flagship SUV under the Arena chain of Maruti, and the five-star ratings given by both BNCAP and GNCAP (back-to-back) add a lot of credibility to it.

Although the BNCAP outcome augments its sales credentials among Indian customers, the GNCAP outcome can corroborate the export hold of Maruti Suzuki, which characterised the Victoris globally as a force to reckon with in the small SUV category segment.

Conclusion

Having powerful safety attestations, choice of powertrain (petrol and hybrid) and the recent five-star GNCAP rating, the Maruti Victoris will be one of the most reliable SUVs in the category, not only in India but also abroad.
