The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG has officially arrived in showrooms across India, following its launch earlier this year. The new CNG variant offers an efficient and affordable option for buyers looking for an eco-friendly hatchback. It comes in three variants—VXi, VXi (O), and ZXi—with prices ranging from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom), representing a premium of Rs 90,000 over its petrol counterpart.
Fuel Efficiency: The Swift CNG boasts a best-in-segment fuel efficiency of 32.85 km/kg, surpassing rivals like the Tata Tiago CNG (26.49 km/kg) and the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG (27 km/kg).
Manual Locking CNG Filler Cap: A new addition to the 4th-gen Swift CNG is the manual locking and unlocking external CNG filler cap, which replaces the older internally operated cap.
Smart Play Pro Infotainment: Even the lower variants of the Swift CNG now come with a Smart Play Pro infotainment system, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Subscription Program: Maruti Suzuki offers a subscription option for Swift CNG, starting at Rs 21,628 per month, which covers registration, insurance, and maintenance.
The Maruti Swift CNG is powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, Z Series petrol engine, delivering 80 hp and 112 Nm of torque in petrol mode. However, in CNG mode, the output drops to 69 hp and 102 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, ensuring smooth power delivery and higher fuel efficiency.
The Swift S-CNG retains the single-piece CNG cylinder configuration, which contrasts with the more convenient twin-cylinder setups offered by competitors. Maruti claims a 6% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the previous Swift CNG model, further enhancing its eco-friendly appeal.
The new Maruti Swift CNG is now available in showrooms, with deliveries starting in Gujarat this weekend, followed by key states such as Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Other states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh, will follow suit.
