Maruti Suzuki Teases New CNG Vehicle Range: Is Swift Next?
Maruti Suzuki plans to launch three new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) models in response to the skyrocketing cost of fuel. These models will meet the growing consumer demand for vehicles with higher fuel efficiency. This action is a component of their plan to increase the number of CNG vehicles in their lineup and take advantage of the rising demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
A teaser film for two forthcoming models: the Fronx and the Brezza, both of which will come with CNG technology was just produced by Maruti Suzuki. CNG stickers are visible on the back windshield of the automobiles in the teaser, which shows them speeding across a desert terrain and suggests that they will soon be released.
Maruti Suzuki already boasts an extensive range of CNG vehicles, encompassing well-known vehicles like as the Wagon R, Alto, and S-Presso. The Brezza and Fronx are part of the company's effort to give customers who want to convert to CNG-powered cars more choices. Additionally, the next Swift will have a CNG variant of its own when it joins the range.
The new CNG Models of Maruti Suzuki Upcoming lineup will be filled with some new out-of-the-box features such as:
Automatic Transmission and Twin-Cylinder Technology
It has been claimed that Maruti Suzuki is thinking of providing automatic gearboxes for the new CNG cars to make them more appealing. The goal of this action is to preserve fuel efficiency while increasing driver convenience. Twin-cylinder CNG technology is also anticipated to enhance storage capacity, resolving a typical issue with CNG vehicles—the reduction of boot room brought on by large tanks.
Dual Tank CNG Technology
Maruti Suzuki may adopt a dual-tank setup similar to Tata Motors' iCNG technology, seen in models like the Altroz and Tiago. This innovation uses two smaller 30-liter tanks instead of one large tank, thereby preserving valuable boot space. The company's familiarity with dual-tank technology, currently used in the Super Carry LCV, positions it well to implement this feature in its upcoming passenger vehicles.
The new Swift CNG variant will be powered by Maruti's Z12E engine, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine known for its efficiency. It is projected to deliver an impressive mileage of 32 km per kg of CNG, making it a compelling choice for budget-conscious consumers. The Swift CNG will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, maintaining continuity with its predecessors.
When it launches, the Swift CNG is anticipated to go up against other CNG vehicles in its class, like the Tata Tiago and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Pricing is expected to be in line with industry standards for CNG conversions, with a small premium of about Rs 90,000 to 95,000 over corresponding petrol models.
In conclusion, Maruti Suzuki's move to add the Brezza, Fronx, and Swift CNG versions to its inventory highlights its dedication to satisfying changing consumer demands for affordable and environmentally friendly automobiles. Maruti Suzuki wants to get stronger in the Indian car industry and provide more people with sustainable transportation options by utilizing cutting-edge CNG technology at a competitive price.
