Maruti Suzuki Fronx Fuel Economy Figures Announced

The Fronx coupe SUV, which Maruti Suzuki recently debuted, was on display at Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year. Although Maruti had withheld the fuel economy statistics from the public during the introduction, the company has now made them public at the Fronx media drive. The Fronx 1.2 petrol MT delivers 21.79 kpl, the Fronx 1.0 turbo petrol MT delivers 21.5 kpl, and the Fronx 1.0 turbo petrol AT delivers 20.01 kpl. These are the fuel efficiency ratings for the Fronx vehicles.

For the Fronx SUV, Maruti Suzuki plans to offer two engine choices: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated DualJet petrol engine. With an option of a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox, the 1.2-litre engine can provide 90hp and 113Nm.

The manual gearbox is standard on all three trims and is only available on the Delta and Delta+ trims for this engine, which is offered in the Sigma, Delta, and Delta+ trims. In the Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha grades, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine with 100 horsepower and 147.6 pound-feet of torque will be available.

The Zeta and Alpha trims with the best specifications will have a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as an option. Whereas the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine achieves 21.5 kpl with the manual gearbox and 20.01 kpl with the automatic, the Fronx with the 1.2-litre engine achieves 21.79 kpl for the manual option and 22.89 kpl for the AMT.

The Fronx from Maruti Suzuki will go on sale soon and, like the Baleno, will be sold as a high-end compact SUV through Nexa dealerships. Once it is purchased, the Fronx will face competition from other small SUVs and high-riding hatchbacks like the Citroen C3, Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
