The Long Wait Continues: Mahindra XUV700 Waiting Period Hits 13 Months

Indian shoppers are interested in Mahindra's XUV700 SUV because of its technologically updated interior and smooth powertrains. Since the SUV's introduction in 2021, demand has increased significantly, creating long lines for prospective customers.

There are presently waiting time of up to six months and seven months for the base MX and AX3 trims in both the petrol and diesel models. The waiting periods for the mid-spec AX5 trims, offered in petrol and diesel, may last up to eight months. The 11-month and 13-month waiting periods for the top-spec AX7 and AX7L trims, respectively, are the longest.

In the November 2022 report, the MX and AX3 petrol trims had waiting times of up to two months, and the AX5 petrol trims had waiting times of up to four months. These waiting times have dramatically increased. There was a waiting time of up to 15 months for the AX7 and AX7L trims in petrol and diesel.

A 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 200 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque powers the XUV700. 155 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque and 185 horsepower and 420 Nm (450 Nm with an automatic gearbox) of torque are the two power outputs of a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that is also featured. Either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox is mated to each engine. All-wheel drive is only available with the diesel engine option.

The ex-showroom price for the XUV700 ranges from Rs 14.01 lakh to Rs 26.18 lakh. The Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar are competitors for the three-row XUV700, while the Tata Harrier and MG Hector SUVs are rivals for the two-row model.
