The forthcoming Carnival makeover for the fourth generation has begun road testing by Kia Motors, the dominant automaker in South Korea. The already well-liked Carnival MPV is expected to receive several changes and improvements with the new generation.

During testing, a facelifted model of Kia Motors' well-liked MPV, the Carnival, was spotted in South Korea. A new configuration for the LED daytime running lights, a slightly modified bonnet with more cuts and creases, and vertically stacked headlamps akin to those on the new Kia EV9 SUV are all anticipated for the next model.

The Carnival facelift is comparable to the same alloy wheel design as the present model. Still, the vehicle's rear features a new tail-lamp design with an inverted L-shape similar to the Seltos facelift. With the Carnival facelift, Kia plans to incorporate a hybrid powertrain based on a 1.6-litre gasoline engine and updated styling. The new model is slated to make its global premiere in January 2024, although an official launch date has been established for India.

The impending Carnival facelift's powertrain specifications still need to be clarified. Nevertheless, rumours indicate that the MPV will likely have a hybrid powertrain based on a 1.6-litre gasoline engine and an electric motor. The new powertrain's output numbers have not yet to be released. Presently, two engines are available for the Carnival in India: a 2.2-litre diesel engine with 201 horsepower and a 3.5-litre gasoline engine with 296 horsepower. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

In January 2024, the fourth-generation Kia Carnival facelift is scheduled to debut globally. However, it is still being determined whether India will be the country of initial release for the new model. The current Carnival, also known as the KA4 MPV, debuted at the Auto Expo 2023 and is likely to go on sale in India later this year for about Rs 50 lakh.
