Jeep Meridian Facelift Spotted Testing in India

The Jeep Meridian is set for a mid-lifecycle update later this year, and a camouflaged test mule has been spotted on the roads, hinting at some upcoming changes. While the SUV will remain mechanically unchanged, it is expected to feature subtle cosmetic updates and new features.

Initial observations suggest there won’t be major cosmetic changes. The grille might see slight tweaks, and the bumper could sport a new design with silver accents around the fog lamp housing. A notable addition is the new ADAS radar module within the central air intake. This aligns with Jeep's typical approach of making modest design updates during mid-lifecycle refreshes, as seen with models like the Wrangler and Compass.

Interior Changes

The interior of the facelifted Meridian also doesn’t seem to have major changes. Updates may include new trim and upholstery options. The addition of the ADAS suite is expected, but other equipment updates are unlikely. The current Meridian is already well-equipped with features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen, connected tech, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a 9-speaker Alpine-tuned audio system.

Powertrain

The facelifted Jeep Meridian will continue with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine, producing 170hp and 350Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Jeep is also considering a new petrol engine for the Compass in India, which might eventually be offered in the Meridian, though this is not expected before 2025.

Expected Price

Currently, the Jeep Meridian is priced between Rs 33.60 lakh and Rs 39.66 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted version is expected to see a slight price increase. The Meridian competes with the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan in the Indian market.

The upcoming facelift aims to keep Meridian competitive in its segment with updated features and slight design enhancements, continuing to offer a robust and well-equipped SUV option.
