India’s Favourite Tata Punch EV to get its Rival Hyundai Inster

India’s EV market hasn’t been dominating lately but we can expect by 2026 the EV market will be back on track with a new launch. Earlier, the Tata Punch EV was one of the most affordable and reliable EVs available in the Indian market, with Hyundai announcing the Hyundai Inster it seems that the Tata Punch is about to be replaced by 2026. Hyundai Inster: Battery Specifications and Range

The Hyundai Inster is designed to be a perfect fit for city driving, with its compact size making it ideal for navigating through crowded streets and tight parking spots. This micro-SUV will offer two battery options. The standard version comes with a 42 kWh battery, providing 95 bhp and 147 Nm of torque. For those seeking more power and range, there is a Long-range version with a 49 kWh battery, delivering 113 bhp and the same torque of 147 Nm.

Charging the Inster is quick and convenient. With a 120 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. The vehicle is also equipped with an 11 kW on-board charger as a standard feature. Additionally, Hyundai offers an optional battery heating system and a high-efficiency heat pump to enhance the vehicle's performance in various weather conditions.

Dimensions and Design

The Hyundai Inster will be manufactured locally in Sriperumbudur, and Exide will produce the battery. In terms of dimensions, the Inster has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm, a length of 3,825 mm, a width of 1,610 mm, and a height of 1,575 mm. This compact size makes it a practical choice for urban environments. The Inster will also feature a sunroof, providing 987 mm of headroom, or 1,028 mm with a standard roof.

The base model of the Inster will come with 15-inch steel wheels, while the mid and top variants will be equipped with 15-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels, respectively. The vehicle offers a boot capacity of 280 liters, making it suitable for daily use and small trips.
