India's Car Week in Review: V-Class Goes Luxury, Batman Returns, and Renault Teases Its Next Big Move
  • The Mercedes-Benz V-Class has officially launched in India at Rs 1.40 crore, bringing with it three-row ventilated seats, Burmester audio, and AIRMATIC air suspension across two seating layouts.

  • The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is back after its first run of 999 units sold out, and the Renault Bridger Concept has been teased ahead of its global debut.

It is not every week that the Indian automotive calendar throws a luxury MPV launch, a Batman-branded electric SUV comeback, a budget-friendly MPV expansion, and a rugged SUV concept teaser all into the same seven days. But that is exactly what happened, and honestly, it is the kind of week that reminds you just how wild and wide-ranging the Indian car market has become.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class - The Star of Stuttgart Arrives in Style

Mercedes-Benz India pulled the covers off the new V-Class, pricing it at an introductory Rs 1.40 crore ex-showroom. The luxury MPV arrives in an extra-long wheelbase configuration and is offered in both six-seat and four-seat layouts. What makes the V-Class genuinely impressive is its attention to passenger comfort.

Ventilated seats are standard across all three rows, not just the front. Add to that a Burmester audio system and AIRMATIC air suspension, and you begin to understand what the money is buying. Power comes from both petrol and diesel engine options, with a nine-speed automatic gearbox handling the shift work on both.

Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition - The Dark Knight Rides Again

If you missed out on the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition the first time around, here is your second shot, though it will cost you a little more.

Mahindra has relaunched the limited-edition electric SUV at Rs 28.49 lakh ex-showroom, which works out to Rs 70,000 more than its original price. The model, developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, first appeared in a run of just 999 units that sold out entirely in August 2025.

Bookings for this second batch open on March 10, 2026, for a single day only, with deliveries set to begin from April 10.

Toyota Makes the Rumion More Inviting

Toyota has added a new entry-level variant to the Rumion lineup, badged simply as the E, priced at Rs 9.55 lakh ex-showroom. The addition brings the MPV's starting price down noticeably, making it a more accessible proposition for family buyers.

Under the bonnet sits the familiar 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 102bhp and 137Nm, available with both manual and automatic transmission choices. A CNG version is also part of the offering.

Renault's Rugged New Shape Peeked Through the Shadows

Renault gave the Indian market a first look at the Bridger Concept ahead of its official global debut on March 10, 2026. The concept previews a sub-four-metre SUV being developed with Indian buyers firmly in mind.

From the teaser images, the Bridger carries a notably boxy silhouette with an upright stance and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, a design language that borrows heavily from lifestyle off-road territory.
