Hyundai Exter Powertrain Breakdown: Variant-wise Details Revealed

Hyundai has begun reservations for the much-awaited Exter SUV, enabling customers to reserve a space with a nominal payment of Rs 11,000 (about $110). The Exter, which will be available in five trims, two engines, and two gearboxes, has been presented by the business.

The Exter has a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a CNG fuel option. Customers can choose between a five-speed manual and an AMT automatic transmission for the petrol type; the CNG variant only offers a manual gearbox. Although the 1.2-litre engine's official horsepower and torque numbers have not been released, it is estimated to produce roughly 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque, comparable to engines seen in models like the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Venue. Like its sedan, SUV, and hatchback siblings, the CNG powertrain is anticipated to produce roughly 69 horsepower and 95.2 Nm.

For the petrol version, customers can choose a five-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox; the CNG variation only provides a manual gearbox. The Exter SUV will be offered in a number of model grades, including EX, S, SX, SX (O), and the highest-spec SX(O) Connect. Only the EX trim does not have an AMT transmission option and only provides a petrol-manual gearbox.

The Exter SUV's CNG version will come in two trim levels, S MT and SX MT. Six monochromatic exterior paint colours will be available for the Exter, including Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Titan Grey, and Hyundai's brand-new Ranger Khaki. Three dual-tone colours based on Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, and Ranger Khaki are also available for the fuel Exter. Dual-tone colour selections are not available for the CNG version, though.

This year, Hyundai expects to release the Exter SUV's price range in late July or early August. Hyundai's most cheap SUV in India will be the Exter, which will sit below the Venue. It will face competition from vehicles like the Citroen C3 and Tata Punch.
