The Hyundai Creta EV, based on the facelifted Creta launched in early 2024, is gearing up for its debut with a host of new features and a fresh design. Recent spy shots have provided a clearer look at its interior and exterior updates.

Key Features and Interior Changes

The Creta EV will maintain the same cabin layout as its ICE counterpart, featuring a dual-tone theme and integrated dual-digital displays. Key interior highlights include:

• Dual 10.25-inch Displays: The Creta EV will be equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital driver's display.

• 3-Spoke Steering Wheel: A new, exclusive 3-spoke steering wheel, seen in previously spotted test mules.

• Drive Selector: Positioned behind the steering wheel, similar to the setup in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV, instead of the centre console.

Slightly Tweaked Exterior

On the exterior, the Creta EV will feature some subtle yet significant updates:

• New Alloy Wheel Design: A fresh look for the alloy wheels.

• Closed-Off Grille: A design change is expected for the electric variant.

• Redesigned Bumpers: Slight tweaks to the bumpers for a more modern look.

• L-shaped LED DRLs: Continuing from the regular model, enhancing the front design.

• All-LED Lighting: Expected to carry over from the regular model.

Expected Features and Safety

The Creta EV is anticipated to borrow most of its features from the ICE variant, including:

• Infotainment and Comfort: 10.25-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats.

• Safety Features: Six airbags (standard), 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like auto emergency braking, lane assist, and adaptive cruise control.

While Hyundai has not confirmed the specific details about the battery pack and electric motor, the Creta EV is expected to offer:

• Range: A claimed range of over 400 km.

• DC Fast Charging: Support for DC fast charging.

• Regenerative Braking: Multi-level regenerative braking system.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Hyundai Creta EV is projected to have a starting price of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with:

• MG ZS EV

• Tata Curvv EV

It will also serve as a premium alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
