The brand-new midsize SUV, code-named 3US, will be formally unveiled by Honda India on June 6 in New Delhi. The Honda Elevate is probably the name of the SUV that the manufacturer specifically designed for the Indian market.

The SUV stands out from other midsize SUVs because of its unique design and meticulous construction. It is built on the Honda City platform and includes a 1.5-litre petrol engine as standard equipment. It won't provide substitutes for powerful hybrid or diesel engines, though. Later this year, the Honda Elevate will go on sale, initially in India and subsequently in other countries.

According to spy photos, the new Honda SUV will be designed like a true SUV instead of the BR-V, which combines MPV and SUV characteristics. A powerful body, hefty cladding, muscular wheel arches, and a lot of chrome are visible in the disguised images. The design also has an assertive snout and proportions that are erect. The SUV's design satisfied Honda dealers who saw a private preview of it in Thailand, and they think it will attract attention and help Honda's financial situation. The SUV will have bright LED headlights for the highest models, and the rear taillights will resemble those of more recent Honda models, such as the most recent WR-V sold in Indonesia.

The Grand Vitara, Hyryder, Taigun, and Kushaq are recent competitors in the highly competitive Indian midsize SUV industry, including established models like the Creta and Seltos. Honda's new SUV represents a genuine attempt to break into this market. Up to 8,000 units per month are expected to be produced by the company in India, with most of those units being destined for export. This action demonstrates Honda's desire to gain a commanding position in the Indian midsize SUV market.

The interior room and wheelbase of Honda's new SUV will be competitive with other midsize SUVs sold in India. It will be between 4.2 and 4.3 metres long and share the fifth-generation City's platform and engines. Initially powered by a twin-cam 1.5-litre petrol engine, the SUV will later receive a strong-hybrid powertrain lineup. It will include competitive features, including a 10.2-inch free-standing touchscreen.

The SUV will go on sale in August 2023 at a little higher price than its competitors, which is expected to range between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 19 lakh. There won't be a diesel option; the only available transmissions for the 1.5-litre petrol engine will be a 6-speed manual and a CVT.
