Ford Everest Tremor: Rugged Off-Road Beast Unveiled with Hardcore Upgrades
Ford has unveiled the Everest Tremor, a rugged off-road variant of its popular Everest SUV, in Australia. This new edition builds on Everest’s already formidable reputation by adding several enhancements designed to boost its off-road capabilities. The Everest Tremor is positioned just below the range-topping Platinum trim, offering adventurous drivers a blend of performance, durability, and style.
One of the key upgrades in the Everest Tremor is its suspension system. Ford has equipped the SUV with position-sensitive Bilstein Dampers, which are known for their superior performance in off-road conditions. The lift kit included in the Tremor package enhances ground clearance, allowing the Everest Tremor to easily tackle challenging terrains. Despite these off-road enhancements, the SUV retains its impressive 3.5-tonne towing capacity, making it a versatile choice for those who need to tow trailers or caravans.
Complementing the suspension upgrades are the 17-inch black alloy wheels wrapped in General Grabber AT3 All-Terrain tyres. These tyres offer improved grip on rough surfaces, ensuring that the Everest Tremor can handle everything from muddy trails to rocky paths. Ford has also added Asphalt Black wheel arch mouldings to protect the vehicle's bodywork during off-road excursions.
In addition to its functional upgrades, the Ford Everest Tremor features several visual enhancements that highlight its off-road focus. The new front grille is equipped with factory-fitted auxiliary LED lights, providing better visibility during night-time off-roading. The SUV also comes with front tow hooks and a steel bash plate for added underbody protection.
For those looking to push the Everest Tremor even further, Ford offers an optional Rough Terrain Pack. This package includes an ARB Stealth Bar at the front, ARB Under Vehicle Armour for additional protection, and an auxiliary switch bank for easier control of aftermarket accessories.
Inside, the Everest Tremor gets bespoke ebony leather-accented seats that are embossed with the Tremor logo, adding a touch of exclusivity to the cabin. All-weather floor mats are also included, making it easier to clean up after a day of off-road adventures. The Tremor badging is prominently displayed on the front doors, marking the SUV as a special edition within the Everest lineup.
Ford has also introduced a new Rock Crawl drive mode, which is designed to optimize the SUV’s performance on rocky terrain. This is in addition to the existing six on and off-road drive modes, giving drivers a wide range of options to adapt the vehicle’s settings to different conditions.
Under the hood, the Ford Everest Tremor is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that delivers 250hp and 600Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. This setup ensures that the Everest Tremor has plenty of power to tackle even the most challenging off-road environments.
The Everest Tremor is priced at $83,303 (approximately Rs 46.94 lakh) in Australia. While the Everest was previously sold in India under the Endeavour moniker, Ford is considering reintroducing the SUV to the Indian market, potentially under the Everest name this time. The brand may explore the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route initially, with local manufacturing likely starting in late 2025 or 2026.
With its combination of advanced off-road features, robust powertrain, and stylish upgrades, the Ford Everest Tremor is set to make waves in the off-road SUV segment, both in Australia and potentially in other markets like India.
