DELHI TO JALANDHAR IN AN MG ZS EV: IS INTERCITY COMMUTE POSSIBLE IN AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

YouTuber Park Plus recently took on the challenge of driving an MG ZS EV from Delhi to Jalandhar, a distance of approximately 350 kilometers. The goal was to see if it is possible to do intercity travel in an electric vehicle (EV) without experiencing range anxiety.

The MG ZS EV has a range of 461 kilometers under ideal driving conditions, but on the highway, the range drops to around 325 kilometers. To make sure they had enough range, Park Plus made a few stops along the way to charge the car.

The first stop was at a BPCL petrol pump near Karnal, where they used a fast charger to charge the car to 80% in 30 minutes. The second stop was at a Midwest Subway, where they had lunch and charged the car to 100%.

Overall, Park Plus found that intercity commuting in an EV is possible, but it does require some planning. You need to make sure you know where the charging stations are and how long it will take to charge the car.

Here are some tips for planning an intercity trip in an EV:

Research your route and find out where the charging stations are. There are a number of websites and apps that can help you with this. Plan your stops so that you can charge the car when you need to. Don't wait until you are running low on range to find a charging station. Allow extra time for your trip. It will take longer to travel in an EV than in a petrol or diesel car, because you will need to make stops to charge the car.

With a little planning, you can easily make an intercity trip in an EV. EVs are becoming more and more popular, and the infrastructure for charging them is growing rapidly. So if you are thinking about buying an EV, don't let range anxiety hold you back.
