Cars That Took the Stage in India December 2025
  • With a plethora of new models, including SUVs, EVs, facelifts, and even a lifestyle convertible, India's passenger car industry concluded 2025.

  • The month laid the stage for an exciting year ahead with new engine options, significant revelations, and record-breaking demand.

The 2026 Kia Seltos, which debuted worldwide in December, was the most talked-about introduction. It is bigger and more contemporary than its predecessor, with a more luxurious cabin, improved infotainment, updated style, and sophisticated driving assistance. Reservations opened immediately, highlighting the excitement surrounding this small SUV.

In the meantime, updated versions of the Hector and Hector Plus were introduced by MG Motor India. Fresh alloy wheels, new bumpers, and a reworked front grille are just a few of the slight but noticeable cosmetic changes made to these upgraded SUVs. Families will still find familiar cabin packages and comfort-focused features.

Tata Provides New Fuel Options

An important change to Tata Motors' SUV portfolio also occurred in December. The Harrier and Safari's petrol versions were unveiled, introducing a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine to models that had previously only had diesel engines. This increases attractiveness to consumers who prefer gasoline substitutes and offers both manual and automatic transmission options.

A Record Sierra Demand and a Lifestyle Launch

More than 70,000 reservations were made for Tata's recently introduced Sierra SUV shortly after it was introduced, demonstrating the high demand for new models in the mid-sized SUV market.

Mini Cooper Convertible S

The Mini Cooper Convertible S made its debut as a high-end lifestyle car in India, adding diversity to the year-end lineup. With its powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, it offers open-top driving to aficionados who are prepared to pay a higher price.
