Bookings are now open for Toyota Fortuner’s new Leader Edition

The Toyota Fortuner has recently introduced a special Leader edition, featuring a selection of cosmetic enhancements and an additional safety feature to bolster its appeal. Although the official pricing details have not yet been disclosed, pre-bookings for the Leader edition are now open. Before making a reservation, it's essential to understand the new enhancements included in this variant.

Design and Customization:

The standout feature of the Leader edition is its new dual-tone exterior color options, which include Super White, Platinum Pearl, and Silver Metallic, all complemented by a sleek black roof. Additionally, this variant is adorned with 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels and gloss black spoilers for both the front and rear bumpers. These unique visual enhancements will be professionally installed by authorized dealerships, adding a touch of exclusivity to the Fortuner's appearance.

Special Safety Feature:

One notable addition to the Leader edition is the inclusion of a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a safety feature that has been sourced from the premium Fortuner Legender variant. This system provides real-time monitoring of tire pressure levels, contributing to enhanced driving safety and efficiency.

Powertrain and Transmission Options:

The Fortuner Leader Edition is equipped with the familiar 2.8-liter diesel engine found in the standard model and offers both manual and automatic transmission alternatives. The manual variants deliver 204 PS and 420 Nm of torque, while the automatic versions produce 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Notably, the Leader Edition is exclusively available in rear-wheel-drive configurations, providing a balanced combination of power and control.

Standard Features and Technology:

In terms of features, the Leader edition retains the core amenities found in the standard Fortuner model. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wired connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a premium 6-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging capability, and a conveniently powered tailgate. These features enhance the overall driving experience, creating a comfortable and connected environment for passengers.

Safety and Security:

The Leader edition maintains the comprehensive safety suite found in the standard Fortuner, offering seven airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), traction control, and hill hold assist. These advanced safety technologies prioritize passenger protection and driving stability, ensuring a safe journey for all occupants.

Expected Pricing and Market Competition:

The diesel rear-wheel-drive variants of the Fortuner are currently priced between Rs 35.93 lakh and Rs 38.21 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering the cosmetic enhancements and additional features, the Leader Edition is expected to command a price premium of approximately Rs 50,000. Positioned as a formidable rival to vehicles like the MG Gloster Blackstorm, Jeep Meridian Overland, and Skoda Kodiaq, the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition aims to attract discerning customers seeking a perfect blend of style, performance, and safety in their SUV.
