“Authentic” combustion-engined variant, 4-door Ford Mustang to be introduced soon

Ford is considering of adding a four-door model to the Mustang lineup, which would be a major departure from the conventional two-door muscle car design. Ford CEO Jim Farley stressed the significance of preserving the Mustang's legendary performance and attitude in any new derivatives to ensure fan approval in an exclusive interview:

Global Popularity and Brand Identity:

With a sizable global fan base, the Mustang is currently the best-selling coupe in the world. Farley emphasized Ford's dedication to maintaining the spirit of the Mustang brand, saying that every new Mustang version has to have the essential qualities that make a Mustang a Mustang. He denied that the Mustang would change from its current form, although he did allude to prospective changes such as a four-door vehicle that could fit in with the attitude and style of the original.

Market Strategy and Line-Up Expansion:

Ford wants to increase the Mustang's attractiveness by adding other models to its lineup. This plan entails purchasing models that appeal to conventional buyers in addition to releasing iterations that improve the coupe's standing in the marketplace. Farley hinted at continuing development efforts centered on this area by stating that weight loss could be a cost-effective way to improve performance.

Ford's Market Position in India:

Ford debuted the sixth generation Mustang in India in 2016. It was a hard-top GT coupe with a potent 5.0-liter V8 engine that could generate 401 horsepower and 515 Nm of torque. Ford stopped selling Completely Built Units (CBUs) in India in 2021 after selling them as such from 2016 to 2020. Later, in 2021, Ford stopped doing business in India. Despite this, Ford intends to demonstrate its ongoing interest in the country by reentering the Indian market with the Everest SUV.

Ford's calculated decision to possibly release a four-door version of the venerable Mustang illustrates the brand's dedication to innovation while adhering to the fundamental principles that have shaped the Mustang throughout time. The auto industry is excited to see this iconic muscle car evolve into new and exciting realms as Ford looks for fresh ways to broaden the Mustang lineup and appeal to a wider customer base.
