Nobody can match the elegance of an Audi when it comes to luxury. The 2022 A8 L, Audi India's premier sedan, will debut on the 12th of July 2022. The premium vehicle from the German automaker is anticipated to cost approximately Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom). Since the A8 L's 2022 avatar is an upgrade, we will focus on what is different and enhanced.
The A8L has many choices regarding powertrain options, but Audi is only planning to release the luxury sedan in India with one engine specification. A single 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 340 PS and uses 48V mild-hybrid technology will power the new Audi A8 L.
A 335 bhp output and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds are expected for the powertrain. The high-end sedan will include an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive technology.
With a 10.1-inch touchscreen system built on the third-generation modular toolkit, the A8 L maintains its position as the pinnacle of luxury. It is included with MMI Navigation Plus as standard. It still includes an advanced audio system, a curved 8.6-inch all-digital driver's dashboard, climate control, and seating functions. For the rear passengers, two 10.1-inch full-HD displays will be installed on the backs of the front seats. The Audi A8 L will also have a Bang & Olufsen 23-speaker 1920W 3D sound system, e, 4-zone climate control, Park Assist Plus with 3D surround vision camera, soft door close, head-up display, wireless charging, rear-seat entertainment, and other features.
Regarding the exterior style, potential customers may anticipate an improved front fascia with a new, larger front fascia that is dominated by chrome, and flanked by more slender LED headlights with updated graphics.
The single front grille has been redesigned; it is now broader, bolder, and embellished with chrome studs that give it a 3D appearance. This unquestionably gives the 2018 Audi A8 L a threatening presence on the road.
The new A8 L now has sharp front air dams in addition to an extra splash of chrome around the fog lamps. They have the latest Digital Matrix LED headlights from Audi, illuminating the driver's lane thanks to their roughly 1.3 million micromirrors. The rear-end design, including the LED tail lamps and an LED bar extending across the width, remained unaltered because it is essentially a facelifted model.
With ten airbags, ESP, all-wheel steering, ABS with EBD, all-around braking systems, seat belt reminder, front and rear parking sensors, front collision warning, and lane departure warning, Audi will offer the updated A8L.
The upgraded model now comes with 19-inch 5-arm turbine design polished alloy wheels, Audi Digital Matrix LED headlights, OLED rear combo lighting, air suspension, rear Relaxation Package with chair, and foot massage for the passenger in the backseat.
Although when it comes to exclusivity, Audi has its niche, it will still have to compete with the Lexus LS, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Last month, the German luxury carmaker began taking reservations for the vehicle at the cost of Rs 10 lakh at the store or online at Audi India.
