All-New Honda Elevate Compact SUV Unveiled; Global Launch Around Festive Season

The all-new Honda Elevate compact SUV has made its global debut in India and the company has confirmed opening its pre-bookings in July.

The Honda Elevate will be launched in India around the festive season this year and will then make its way to the global markets. The new Honda Elevate is the latest entrant in the hotly contested compact SUV space, rivaling the likes of some of the popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor among others.

In terms of design, the Honda Elevate borrows design cues from global models and looks quite bold and urban up front. The face is dominated by the all-black grille while there’s a chunky chrome strip on the top. The grille is further flanked by sleek LED headlights with DRL eyebrows while angular lines on the hood are neatly done.

The profile looks quite flush and proportionate while the dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels fill the wheel wells quite well. The rear end too has the quintessential compact SUV look spot on sporting sleek LED taillights, a chiseled boot, and chunky rear bumpers. The dual-tone treatment on the top-of-the-line trims is nicely done as well.

In terms of dimensions, the new Honda Elevate is 4312 mm long while has a 2650 mm long wheelbase. The height is measured at 1650 mm while it is 1790 mm wide. The ground clearance of the Honda Elevate is measured at 220 mm.

The cabin of the new Honda Elevate is finished in brown and black and it gets soft-touch upholstery on the armrest door and centre armrests. The design is neat and it does feel upmarket while you also have physical buttons for air-con controls giving you one-touch access.

In terms of tech and features, the Honda Elevate gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and another connected tech. It also gets wireless charging, auto climate control, and a single-pane sunroof while misses on features like ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof. That said, the Honda Elevate gets six airbags as standard while upper trims get the Level 2 Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as well with features like forward collision warning and mitigation, blind spot detection, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert and fatigue alert among others.

The Honda Elevate gets the tried and tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine under its hood which complies with the RDE norms and can run on E20 (20 percent ethanol blend) fuel. It belts out 119 bhp at 6600 rpm and 145 Nm of peak torque at 4300 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox while the CVT automatic transmission is on offer as well.
