Ahead of Mahindra XUV300 Facelift, Mahindra XUV.e9 EV spotted

Mahindra & Mahindra is uplifting its game in the automotive industry by being highly intrusive in the EV sector. It has been reported that Mahindra has planned the launch of five new electric cars in the coming years. Currently, Mahindra has returned to the electric mobility market with the XUV400, following the initial wave of electric vehicles that included the e2O, e2O Plus, and e-Verito.

However, the company has high goals for BEVs, and there will be a lot of new electric vehicles. One of them is the Mahindra XUV.e9, and new spy photos provide additional details about this upcoming coupe SUV which was recently captured on Nashik Highway.

Spy Shot Details:

Social media has been burning with the most recent spy photo of the XUV.e9, taken while it was speeding through India. The front trunk, or trunk, a feature present in certain other electric vehicles, was nowhere to be seen, even though the bonnet was open at the time of the sighting. But rumors have it that when the model gets closer to production, Mahindra might add more under-the-bonnet storage.

A notable characteristic of a vehicle that is exclusively electric is that, because of platform optimization, there will be a significant amount of space under the engine. The majority of the parts on an electric vehicle that is derived from an internal combustion engine are shared, so moving them would need significant re-engineering, which could be expensive.

The XUV.e9 EV is based on Mahindra's innovative INGLO platform and is referred to as the coupe version of the company's upcoming XUV.e8 electric SUV. Its predecessor is the flagship XUV700 SUV. The spy photos, which show only a few details, validate the EV's commanding presence on the road, which is highlighted by its large wheel arches.

Interior Details:

Although the spy photo only provides a partial view of the interior, the XUV.e9's interior is expected to resemble that of its SUV sibling, the XUV.e8. A cluster of digital screens that adorn the dashboard of the cabin is expected to be a standout feature. A recent social media video hinted that these screens could be three separate displays.

Powertrain Details:

Although Mahindra has not disclosed any information about the XUV.e9, rumors indicate that buyers may be able to select between two battery capacities and single or dual motor setups. With a range of more than 450 kilometers on a single charge, Mahindra's expanding range of electric vehicles is expected to gain a noteworthy addition with the arrival of the XUV.e9.

One thing to note is that The born electric INGLO platform comes with a single-motor or dual-motor AWD drivetrain and battery options ranging in capacity from 60 to 80 kWh.

This XUV.e9 test mule also has twin hydraulic bonnet struts, which are noteworthy features. Even now, Duster offered the XUV700 with hydraulic bonnet struts for nearly half the price; this is an astonishing omission. This vehicle is very visible on the road, and we cannot overlook it. The launch is expected by December 2024.
