The Kia EV9 electric SUV made its concept debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, and it has since been spotted in Hyderabad during production testing. The EV9, which is scheduled for release in India later this year, will be the largest and priciest vehicle available from Kia India and come equipped with level 3 ADAS. It is one of the many models included in Kia's 2.0 strategy for the Indian market is the EV9.
The entire visual detail of the EV9 is revealed by its fully uncovered unit. The electric SUV debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2021, and in March 2023 it made its world debut in Seoul, South Korea.
The visual highlights of the global-spec model are identical to those of the test mule that was spied on in India. This features a flat roofline, a boxy profile with tall pillars, and a unique sealed-off front grille with vertical LED headlamps on either side that are integrated with LED DRLs. Alloy wheels machine-cut to a 21-inch diameter fill the massive wheel arches.
The EV9's sleek LED taillights, which run along the D-pillar, are reminiscent of those seen on Volvos. A shark fin antenna, roof rails, a spoiler mounted on the roof, and the front and rear bumpers' silver-finished lower lips are additional highlights. EV9's measurements are 1,980 mm in width, 1,780 mm in height, and 5,015 mm in length. It has an enormous 3,100mm wheelbase.
Level 3 ADAS technology is expected to be included in the Kia EV9 electric SUV. In the more expensive GT-Line model, Kia will supply the feature through its Highway Driving Pilot program. It will employ fifteen sensors placed thoughtfully around the space.
The EV9's three-row, seven-seat interior configuration is anticipated to be the only one available for the India-spec model.
Additionally, A sizable twin-screen arrangement that accommodates the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is one of the EV9's other notable interior features. Following it includes a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, an adjustable smart power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, 60:40 split remote folding second-row seats with headrests, and 50:50 split remote folding third-row seats with headrests.
The core of the Kia EV9 is the E-GMP platform. Kia will offer the EV9 in two battery sizes and a range of configurations. There will be a rear-wheel drive Standard model with a 76.1kWh battery that is available. The long-range model will come with an expanded 99.8 kW h battery and be offered with both RWD and AWD drivetrain options.

Up to 541 kilometers can be covered by the long-range Kia EV9 on a single charge. The 800-volt design of the electric SUV will enable fast charging, which can charge the EV for more than 200 km in 15 minutes.
The Kia EV9 will probably cost more than Rs 80 lakh, making it even more costly than the EV6, which is Kia India's only electric car available right now. It is anticipated that this large South Korean SUV will only be released towards the end of the year, following the release of Kia's new Carnival.
