The new Swift series has been leaked recently, but if the production committee could get the engine right, the fuel economy, the pack programme for features will soon rival existing models. Nowadays, the fans ascribe the car taking a bearing in the franchise way before the official release. Indian carmakers want to launch their model called the fourth-generation Swift staged at the Tokyo Motor Show last year on Indian roads in the forthcoming days. The car which has already been booked will be officially presented to the customers on the date fixed as May the 9th in the upcoming month.

The most extensive modification is inside the hood where one of the current 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engines will be replaced by a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder 16-valve VVT motor, the Z Series. Consequently, V3Cars report that the firm has a new engine in a separate brand which implies that it will be more fuel-effective than the previous version and will also possess mild hybrid technology. Key in this context, the 2024 Swift is slated to be the only hatchback in India that will offer the projector headlamps.

As per the leaked report, the 2024 Swift is expected to deliver an impressive fuel economy of 25.72 kmpl. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this figure pertains to the manual or automatic transmission variant. While the international version of the Swift comes with a CVT, the Indian market is anticipated to retain the AMT, akin to the previous model. Nevertheless, the new Swift boasts a notable increase in fuel efficiency, offering an additional 3 kmpl over its predecessor.

In terms of performance, the Z Series 3-cylinder powertrain churns out 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque, slightly lower than the outgoing K Series 4-cylinder engine, which produces 89 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. This translates to a marginal reduction of 8 bhp and 1 Nm in power output.

Apart from the revamped engine, the 2024 Swift comes loaded with an array of features aimed at enhancing the driving experience. These include a 9-inch infotainment system, Arkamys sound system, USB-C charging ports, rear air conditioning vents, and a wireless phone charger. Furthermore, top trims of the new Swift are expected to feature LED fog lamps, adding to both style and functionality.

In terms of safety, Maruti Suzuki has upped the ante with the 2024 Swift, offering standard six airbags across all variants. This is a significant improvement over the previous model, which was equipped with only twin airbags, underscoring the company's commitment to enhancing passenger safety.

With its upgraded engine, enhanced features, and improved safety standards, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is poised to set new benchmarks in the hatchback segment, offering consumers a compelling blend of performance, efficiency, and comfort. Stay tuned for the official unveiling on May 9th, as the eagerly anticipated Swift gears up to make its mark on Indian roads.
