It is a well-known fact that the air quality of Delhi is regarded as among the worst on the planet. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 2 million people in India tragically die due to the air quality annually. According to reports, 17,24,891 automobiles in the city carry invalid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates which affects the climate in the worst way possible.

Now the Delhi Govt has decided to upscale its game when it comes to tackling pollution issues in Delhi. A ₹10,000 challan will be handed out to vehicles not having a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Non-PUC holders will be receiving notifications at their doorstep from the Delhi government's transport department. Dust pollution also grapples the city every winter season due to several open-burnings and industrial pollutants. The Delhi Govt also initiated an 'Anti-Dust campaign' and 'Red light on- Car off campaign' in order to tackle the issue of air pollution.

Vehicles are a significant source of nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and other pollutants, and in order to solve the crisis vehicle owners who do not have valid or with fake PUC certificates will be under the strict radars of the Delhi Govt.
