Hyundai Exter Revealed

Hyundai has officially revealed the Exter, will be available in five trims and features connected tech on the top trim.

Hyundai has finally revealed its upcoming SUV - Exter. The company has shown the exterior design of the SUV and has started accepting bookings for the same for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The overall design boasts a boxy and angular frame for the SUV. It also shows lines on the body that gives a butch and rugged look to the Exter. The Hyundai Exter will lock horns with the likes of the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx to name a few.

The Exter looks to have a very upright stance and this is accented by the angular front fascia that features “H” shaped DRLs on the nose and it sits over the split headlamp setup, hopefully LED. The face also gets a wide grille finished in black and a faux skid plate for the chin. The profile of the Exter shows flared wheel arches and body cladding across the length of the car giving it a sporty look. This is further accented by alloy wheels, roof rails, and lines on the car. The rear section of the car will also have an upright design with a similar “H” shaped LED lighting, skid plate, shark fin antenna, and an integrated spoiler.

The Exter will be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine borrowed from the Grand i10 Nios, Venue, i20, and Aura. The power figures can be expected to be a good 85 bhp and over 115 Nm of torque. The engine will have both, a five-speed manual and an AMT transmission to choose from. Hyundai has also said that the Exter will be offered in a CNG guise as well. It will be offered in five trims - EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. The top variant will get connected tech.
