• Violations of the use of seat belts and helmets: Goa, like Assam, places a strong emphasis on these safety precautions. Usually, the first offence of not using a seat belt or helmet carries a punishment of INR 500.

• Carrying excess passengers: The Motor Vehicle Act under Section 194A states that exceeding the number of passengers listed on a vehicle's registration certificate while operating a transport vehicle is punished by a fine of INR 200 for each extra passenger.

Such vehicles cannot move until the extra passengers have left and a replacement vehicle has been found for them.
