Tata Harrier EV Electrifies India’s Roads with Impressive Specs

The Harrier EV marks Tata’s first all-wheel drive electric SUV, boasting up to 627 km range, advanced features like Neo QLED display, Level 2 ADAS, and fast charging. Bookings open July 2, 2025. Choose from four colours.

Tata Motors introduced its flagship electric SUV, the Harrier EV, in India, priced from ₹21.49 lakh. It marks Tata’s return to all-wheel drive since the Safari Storme and showcases a shift toward electric mobility. One of 2025’s most awaited launches, it blends Tata’s SUV heritage with modern electric technology.

Launch & Pricing

The Harrier EV launched on June 3, 2025, at ₹21.49 lakh for the base Adventure trim with a 65 kWh rear-wheel-drive setup. Tata will open bookings on July 2, 2025. Prices for higher trims featuring the 75 kWh dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration will follow closer to the booking date. This launch underscores Tata’s focus on premium electric SUVs.

Exterior & Design

From the outside, the Harrier EV mirrors the facelifted petrol Harrier from 2023, with subtle EV-focused tweaks. A closed-off grille and revised bumper give a cleaner front look, while new 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels boost efficiency.

Dimensionally, the EV is 2 mm longer and 22 mm taller than its ICE sibling, but the wheelbase remains at 2,741 mm. A slim Harrier.EV badge at the rear signals its electric identity.

Interior & Features

Inside, the cabin retains its dual-tone layout but includes upgrades. The 14.53-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen provides crisp visuals and response. The driver’s display is digital, and the four-spoke steering wheel features an illuminated Tata logo.

Comfort is elevated with ventilated power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting. A 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos 5.1 enhances audio. Additional tech includes a touch-based HVAC panel, a rotary drive-mode selector, and an electronic parking brake.

Battery & Range

Built on Tata’s enhanced Acti.ev platform, the Harrier EV offers two battery options. The base Adventure trim uses a 65 kWh battery and a single rear motor producing 238 hp for rear-wheel drive.

The higher Fearless and Empowered trims feature a 75 kWh LFP battery with dual motors that deliver 313 hp and 504 Nm of torque to all wheels. As per MIDC, the 75 kWh AWD variant achieves a 627 km range. Under Tata’s C75 real-world testing, drivers can expect 480–505 km on a single charge.

Charging

Charging times are practical for Indian use. A 7.2 kW AC charger refills the battery from 10–100 percent in about 10.7 hours. For quick top-ups, a 120 kW DC fast charger takes the battery from 20–80 percent in just 25 minutes, making long trips easier and reducing downtime.

Competition & Booking Details

In terms of rivals, the Harrier EV starts above the BYD BE 6 and XEV 9e, which begin at ₹18.90 lakh and ₹21.90 lakh respectively, yet undercuts the Hyundai Creta Electric’s ₹17.99 lakh entry price.

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will also join this space. At launch, Tata offers four colours: Empowered Oxide, Nainital Nocturne, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. The Stealth Edition adds blacked-out exterior and interior elements. Bookings open July 2, 2025.

In Summary, with a strong blend of range and design, the Tata Harrier EV aims to set a new benchmark for electric SUVs in India. Offering both RWD and AWD powertrains with tech like Level 2 ADAS and a 540-degree camera, it stands out. As bookings begin on July 2, 2025, eco-conscious SUV buyers have much to look forward to.
